Community Standards

Welcome to Open Signal's and MetroEast's Switchboard! We ask that you please read the following community guidelines before posting.

1. Be awesome, helpful and kind to others.

Switchboard is about having positive human interactions on the Internet. Let’s emphasize humanity, generosity and optimism!

Please write your posts, comments and messages to be civil, kind and respectful. Before you post or comment, ask yourself: “Am I treating other people the way I’d like to be treated?”

2. We do not tolerate trolling, attacks, insults, abuse or bullying of any kind.

Open Signal and MetroEast are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for the community. Open Signal and MetroEast do not and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations, and we ask that you do the same when you attend use this Switchboard.

Content that violates this will be removed from the Open Signal and MetroEast Switchboard.

If you experience any of the above, please contact your founder or another staff member immediately.

3. Minors under 16 are not allowed on Open Signal's and MetroEast's Switchboard.

This is a space for mediamakers to connect and share resources, however, recruiting minors to work on your productions is not allowed. We ask that our community members be alert for asks or offers that violate this rule, and let a staff member know if they see it violated.

4. We are here with a purpose.

We’re here because we want to band together to do something great as a community. We seek action, collaboration and success.

That means, we ask that you make your posts actionable, i.e., that they each make a clear call to action that is either a request or an offer, and that when you respond, you make your comments and messages constructive, speaking to the purpose of the original ask or offer.

Thank you for reading our Community Standards, and for your presence here. Together, we can build Open Signal’s and MetroEast's communities and support each other as producers and mediamakers!
